Privacy Policy

This policy explains what AstroJane does and does not do with personal data.

The short version

Nothing typed into the tools (birth date, birth time, place or name) is sent to AstroJane or to any other service. The calculations run in your browser.

AstroJane sets no cookies of its own and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or maps. It does not sell or share personal data and shows no ads.

The hosting provider and a cookieless visit counter see ordinary technical data about each page request. Details are below.

Who is responsible

Roomanos Labs (Roomanos Lab Teknoloji Limited Şirketi), Cevizli Mah. Zuhal Cad. A Blok No: 46 İç Kapı No: 50, Maltepe / İstanbul (Türkiye) is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: info@roomanos.com.

AstroJane has not appointed a representative in the European Union or the United Kingdom under Article 27 of the GDPR and the UK GDPR, because the processing described here is occasional, covers no special categories of data and is unlikely to put anyone at risk.

What stays in your browser

Birth details, place names, coordinates and names that you enter are processed only by code running in your browser tab. AstroJane does not receive them and cannot see them.

If you press the location button on Live Sky, your browser asks for permission first. The coordinates are used on your device to calculate your local horizon, are not sent anywhere and are not stored.

What is processed

Hosting and security logs. Each request to the site is handled by the hosting provider (Vercel Inc.), which processes the IP address, the time, the requested address, the browser and device type, the referring page and the response code. Purpose: delivering the site, protecting it against misuse and fixing faults. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and UK GDPR). Retention: the period the hosting provider sets for its logs, after which they are deleted; the operator keeps no copy.

Visit statistics. Page views are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless service that stores no cookie or local storage entry and sets no persistent identifier. It tells visits apart by a hash of the request, discarded after 24 hours, and records the page path, referring site, approximate location, device type, browser and operating system. Legal basis: legitimate interests. Retention: the period the provider sets for this service.

Email sent to info@roomanos.com is used to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interests. Retention: three years after the last message.

Cookies and similar technologies

AstroJane sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.

The hosting provider may set a short-lived security cookie if its firewall challenges a connection.

Who receives data

Vercel Inc. acts as processor for hosting and visit statistics. Email is handled by the operator's email providers.

Personal data is not sold, not shared for advertising and not used for profiling or automated decisions.

International transfers

The hosting provider is based in the United States and serves pages from locations worldwide. Transfers from the EEA, UK and Switzerland rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK addendum in the provider's data processing agreement. The operator is based in Türkiye, so email you send to it is received and handled there.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). Because the operator is established in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 also applies, with similar rights.

Write to info@roomanos.com. Requests are answered within one month. Because almost no data that identifies you is held, you may be asked for details of your visit (date, time and IP address) to find a log entry.

Children

AstroJane is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them. Text entered into the tools stays in the browser.

Changes and effective date

This policy takes effect on November 3, 2026. When it changes, the new version is posted here with an updated date; for material changes a notice is placed on the home page.
